Mozart's Greatest Hits Alongside Prague Philharmonic & James Shearman

Amadeus by Peter Shaffer put on by Prague Shakespeare Company in association with NΓ‘rodnΓ divadlo was a pleasure to work on as a member of the choir. Skipping the audition for any acting parts, I set my sights on the part alto chorus. The opportunity to sing alongside the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by James Shearman was just too good to pass up! After receiving the email that I'd been accepted as a chorus member for this production was not just exciting, but actually a relief! I hadn't sung classical music for ten years... and I missed it!

Performed in English, Amadeus as directed by Guy Roberts at the historical Estates Theater - where Mozart premiered Don Giovanni in 1787 and where Milos Forman filmed the Academy Award winning film of this Tony Award winning play.

In the court of the Austrian Emperor Josef, Antonio Salieri is the established composer. Enter the greatest musical genius of all time: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salieri has given himself to God so that he might realize his sole ambition to be a great composer. Mozart is a foul-mouthed, graceless oaf who has that which is beyond Salieri's envious grasp: Genius.

This is the story in which the chorus, soloists, and orchestra narrated Mozart's story with his greatest hits, such as Queen of the Night, parts of Magic Flute, Requiem: Lacrimosa, Mass in C Minor, Kyrie.
